Formal referrals for evaluations are often given by a child’s pediatrician; however, concerns can be voiced by teachers, relatives, or even you as a parent. Once we have worked with your child directly and received all necessary documents (e.g., health and development questionnaires), you can expect to have your evaluation in hand within 14 calendar days.

Let us first begin by saying the point of speech therapy is to grow through speech therapy. Children enter speech therapy, gain the skills they need, and graduate from speech therapy. That being said, every child’s needs are unique and the speech with which they progress is unique to them as well. While this answer may not be satisfying, rest assured, from the very first moment your child begins with Beetle and Hare, we are working towards their successful dismissal.

Absolutely. Building a relationship is the very first step in providing successful care for our clients and we have a variety of ways to do so. At Beetle and Hare, we pride ourselves on our play-based, child-led sessions where in the client chooses the activity & we happily follow along. As your child plays and becomes more comfortable with us, we will target increasingly difficult goals to meet their growing skill level.

Our first option will always be your home, since that is the child’s most comfortable environment; however, we can also discuss public meeting places (such as the library) or teletherapy as effective options.
